In many ways the eldest daughter of the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Santita Jackson, has been the face of the civil rights leader's organization, Rainbow PUSH. She has accompanied her father at many of the organization's public events and used her own voice and platform to spotlight the organization's work and to spotlight their causes and milestones.
Many may know her as a performer, as she is a renown singer within her community. However, her voice has captured many on stage as she's advocated alongside her father to move the coalition's mission forward. She echoes his sentiments that "no matter where you're from and no matter who you are are, you are somebody."
Yet beyond ceremonial appearances in association to Rainbow PUSH, Santita has accomplished much. She released an album entitled, Put Your Arms Around the World in 2009. And was also a backup singer for Roberta Flack. Today, Santita has her own podcast, The Santita Jackson Show where she uplifts the voices of the marginalized and undeserved. Through her show, she continues to sustain the visibility of her father's legacy, embodying the generational continuity of Rainbow PUSH''s advocacy of civil rights, equality, and community empowerment. Santita frequently gives political commentary on the Fox News Channel, The Grio, and MSNBC.
