The Benefits of Being You

It is fascinating that in a world of more than 8.5 billion people there is only one you. The essence of who you are--your personality--can't be duplicated. Your thought processes and behavior patterns may be similar to others, but are still distinctively yours. You are unique in your own way, and get to choose how you show up in the world. The choices you make--positive or negative-- reflect what you value and offer a glimpse into who you truly are.
Authenticity depends on choice. When you embrace the best version of yourself, it brings meaningful benefits.
You have talent.
What are you good at? What do you know? And don't say "nothing." Everyone is good at something. Take the time to discover your strengths and contribute where your skills are needed. When you do you will see how your efforts help complete something larger than yourself.
You have value.
Do you believe that you are just as important and worthy as a king, queen, or president? Stand tall and position yourself for greatness. Wherever you are and wherever you go, you have the power to promote peace, kindness, and justice.
You are innately good.
Although we all have the ability to make good or bad choices, human nature tends toward goodness. Psychologists often note that people are naturally optimistic, though negative environments can influence behavior. Stay connected to people who encourage growth and reject the negative trends or impulses. When you do, you remain true to your authentic self.
